Since the early 1980's, Industrial Medical Associates, PC (IMA) has worked with companies and municipalities throughout Central New York to help them improve the efficiency and profitability of their operations. IMA does this by helping employers provide their employees with the services needed to promote health and reduce the number of injuries, as well as the number of days of work lost due to injury.
IMA specializes in assisting businesses in their compliance with OSHA, DOT, Worker's Compensation and other state and federal regulations.
Our staff is made up of physicians and physician assistants who are experienced in occupational medicine. Registered and licensed practical nurses and x-ray technologists are also OSHA-certified in Pulmonary Function testing and Audiometric testing.
Physician specialties include: Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Family Practice. Some of our referral specialties include Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Opthamology and Dermatology.
In particular, IMA has extensive experience with OSHA requirements, specializing in asbestos, heavy metals, lead testing, hazardous waste and respirator testing.
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (from 6:30 am at our Taft Road and Utica locations). After business hours, we are on call 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Our main facility is equipped to provide the following services:
- X-Rays (read by a board-certified Radiologist, including pneumoconioses survey)
- Audiometric Screening to OSHA standards
- Pulmonary Function Testing
- Phlebotomy and Laboratory Services
- Visual Screening
- EKG (Electrocardiogram)
- Minor surgery to treat job-related injuries
- Drug and Breath Alcohol testing
- Respirator Fit Testing, Qualitative and Quantitative
